Australia won 1st T20 by 52 Runs - David Warner hit 89 on Debut

Australia bounced back by the test series defeat and won the 1st Twenty20 International by 52 runs against South Africa on Sunday, 11th January, 2009 at Melbourne. Australia leading the 2 T20 match series by 1-0 as the 2nd match will be played on Tuesday, 13th January, 2009.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first got a flying start thanks to debutant David Warner scored 89 runs off 43 balls with 7 fours and 6 sixes, he also won Man of the Match award as he hasn't played even a first class match helped Australia to reach 182/9 in 20 overs.

In reply South Africa got a disastrous start reduced to 12/3 in 3 overs but a wonderful inning by Duminy of 78 runs off 48 balls with 9 fours and 1 six, but no one else supported him as the all out on 130 runs.
