Ind vs NZ 1st T20 Result - New Zealand won by 7 wickets

New Zealand beat the Twenty20 world champions India by 7 wickets in the 1st of the 2match T20 series on Wednesday, 25th February, 2009 at Christchurch. India scored 162/8 in 20 overs and New Zealand made 166/3 with 7 balls remaining.

India lost the toss and invited to bat first, started well as Sehwag hit 3 consecetive sixes in 1st over but wickets at regular intervals restricted India to 162 runs in 20 overs, Only Raina contributed with unbeaten 61 runs off 43 balls with 2 fours and 5 sixes. Indian batsman hit 6 fours and 13 sixes on a small ground.

New Zealand Started slowly but saved wickets and registered a comfortable 7 wicket win in the end with 7 balls remaining. Brendon Mccullum made unbeaten 56 runs while Guptil, Ross Taylor and Oram contributed 41, 31 and 29 not out.
