In a nail biting thrilling match South Africa beat Australia by 4 wickets in the 1st Twenty20 - T2o on Friday, 27th March at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. Australia scored 166/7 in 20 overs and South Africa made 168/6 with 4 balls remaining.
Australia lost the toss and invited to bat first, started poorly and reduced to 71/5 in 10 overs but a superb inning David Hussey, scored unbeaten 88 runs off just 44 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes, took the score to 166/7 in 20 overs.
In reply South Africa started well as Gibbs scored 18 runs in 1 over but slowed down until Albie Morkel scored 19 balls 39 runs to alive in the match. Mark Boucher contributed 36 runs off 22 balls. They need 7 runs in the last overs and captain Botha hit 2 fours to finish the match in style.
